Trump Resumes Weapons Aid to Ukraine
Amidst frustrations with Putin and a phone call with Zelensky, arms to Kyiv begin to flow again.

President Trump on Monday said the U.S. will resume sending defensive weapons to Ukraine, less than a week after the Pentagon quietly halted deliveries.
Speaking alongside Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Trump said Kyiv was “getting hit very hard” and “we’re gonna have to send more weapons” to help them defend themselves. (WSJ)
Pentagon Follows Trump’s Lead After Public Remarks
The Pentagon confirmed the move later that evening. “At President Trump’s direction, the Department of Defense is sending additional defensive weapons to Ukraine to ensure the Ukrainians can defend themselves while we work to secure a lasting peace,” said spokesperson Sean Parnell. (CNN)
Trump: “Not My Call to Halt”
Trump told Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Friday that he wasn’t responsible for the temporary halt, attributing it instead to a review of U.S. munitions stockpiles after last month’s Iran strikes. The two leaders reportedly had what Zelensky later described as “the best conversation in all this time.” (NPR)
Putin Frustrations Grow
Trump, who had pushed for a ceasefire in a recent call with Vladimir Putin, expressed disappointment in Moscow’s response: “I’m disappointed, frankly, that President Putin hasn’t stopped.” (WSJ)
