Supreme Court Upholds Deportations But States Due Process Required
5-4 Ruling Permits Wartime Law Removals, Sends Migrants’ Legal Challenges to Texas
A divided U.S. Supreme Court (5-4) has lifted a lower court’s order that was blocking the deportation of a group of Venezuelan detainees to El Salvador.
The decision, issued Monday, allows the Trump administration to resume transferring these individuals—suspected members of a Venezuelan gang—to a high-security Salvadoran prison under the 1798 Alien Enemies Act, a wartime law invoked to expedite removals.
The conservative majority emphasized that the ruling is a narrow, procedural matter: the detainees can still challenge their deportation, but must do so by filing habeas corpus petitions in Texas (where they are held) rather than in Washington, D.C.
The Supreme Court’s order ends an injunction from a Washington judge and enables immediate deportation flights to proceed.
In response, former President Trump posted on social media:
“The Supreme Court has upheld the Rule of Law in our Nation by allowing a President, whoever that may be, to be able to secure our Borders, and protect our families and our Country.”
Lee Gelernt, an ACLU attorney representing the migrants, called the ruling “a huge victory,” adding,
“the critical point is that the Supreme Court said individuals must be given due process to challenge their removal under the Alien Enemies Act.”

Why would anyone want the president of the USA not do his job ? We already know that these vandels were taking family apartment units from renters and took over land lords property's by using violence. Just went up onto other people's property and just took over and pushed families out. This was wrong and you all know it . Of it would be you instead being puched out by known gang members from the area then there would be proper punishment but because it had to do with seekers of asylum they would not be properly punished or controlled.. this docishion would of came onto whomever would be president now . What do think would of taken place if not in the hands of someone who actually has us in mind ?? You think we even would be talking about this ...? No . They would of ignored it and the vandels would of kept it up and gotten more of then here to go to other parts of the u.s.
